A is for Apples

For 2 days now I have been thinking about apples. I have a recipe to make for next week which is basically apples and walnuts and a few other ingredients, a semi-sweet concoction.
The recipe just says 'apples'.....Delicious? Granny Smith? Macs? Macoons (can't get them here anyway)? Fuji? Cortlands? Honeycrisps? Galas?
Life was so much simpler with fewer varieties but some new things make life so much better. I'd like to do a taste test of apples one time....fun, not fattening.
But I haven't yet decided on what type of apples to use. Maybe I'll mix it up since I need about 5 but maybe that will muddy the taste.
Questions...Does the color of an apple affect its taste? Size? What's your favorite?

I love apples. My favorites are fuji apples. I do like green apples although seem to be more sour. I think that size can determine the taste of an apple. I love that your first post was about apples. I will be following along

Growing up in Western New York, I'm a big fan of apples - McIntosh my favorite because they're small, juicy and pack a lot of punch.

I think the color does have something to do with the taste. It seems like the darker the color the sweeter the taste(or sweet and tart for green apples).
I'd love to see your recipe when you make it!

Glad I finally found your actual blog.
Not long ago I tried Honeycrisp for the first time and loved those. I'm a fan of Delicious apples as well. I prefer apples sliced up or in a recipe.

Apples is a classic choice for the letter A.
