Orchids

Many are intimidated by orchids. While admiring their beauty, they exclaim "Oh, I couldn't"...
I'm here to tell you,  YES,YOU CAN!!!
My most important piece of advice: choose one that has many buds, not open flowers. The flowers will last many weeks. If you choose one with open flowers they may be on the downside and you will have lost the joy of watching them for a long time. And the plants themselves have a long life. Some of mine are 6-7 years old and still flowering like the one in the center photo with the deep purple flowers.
Just a few pictures to get you up and out to purchase one!!!

I love orchids! I have had several over the years, but somehow mine seem to fade away after one or two blooms. I know I am probably doing something wrong, but now I just concentrate on the plants I have and am not getting new ones. (except a tomato plant, my first one ever and I hope I don't kill it!)
Yours are gorgeous - and maybe someday, when my house is not so chaotic, I can spend the needed time with my orchids to have them thrive.

They are beautiful but I kill anything with flowers on it. :/ Stop & Shop has been selling orchids of the most amazing cobalt blue I've ever seen in a flower! I was tempted to get one!

BLUE orchids???? Oh, buy me one!!!

Barbra, I have to look over your other letters; then get back to zibbet once I'm done with this! The only things that thrive in my house are geraniums and ivy.

Pretty! I'm not very good at keeping orchids alive. Thanks for the tip though about purchasing.

I have one that's been sort of dead for awhile...I wonder if I can revive it?

I will try to remember to bring my camera to Stop & Shop and shoot a picture of the blue orchids for sale there.
